A Castle

A Castle

Castles are awesome.  It is obvious that if you were trying to protect yourself from anything, you would rather be in a castle than a house.  However, there is an on-going debate going on regarding what is the best material to build a castle out of?  Fortunately, I have compiled this Top Two list of the best materials to put an end to this debate once and for all.

2.  Wood

Coming in at Number 2 on our list is wood.  Wood is a great material to build castles out of.  This is because it is durable and strong and yet lightweight.  This light weight allows people to easily construct a great castle without having to lift up something that is too heavy.  This has many benefits, including reducing labor costs (because of less worker’s comp injuries – especially from lower back pain) and also helps reduce the time you need to wait around for your structure to finish.  However, one of the negatives of building a castle out of wood is that it is not as strong as some other materials out there.

1. Stone

The Number 1 best castle building material is…..stone!  Stone tops off this list for several reasons.  First of all, it is hard and durable.  If you want to protect yourself from pretty much anything, there isn’t much that can get through stone.  It also looks very imposing when it is stacked high enough and shaped like a building such as a castle.  Finally, it provides a surface for your archers to stand on and defend you.

There are no negatives to using stone.

The only improvement would be using water around the stone to create a moat – of course you would fill said moat with alligators.
