Soldiers meeting during the Revolutionary War

Apocalypse Now was a movie that seemed to depict the realities of many of the conflicts that the United States has gotten involved with in recent years.

In the movie, the soldiers were really not enthusiastic about what they had to do.  It seemed as though many of them just wanted to get home, and they had no idea when they would be able to do so.  I believe that if the soldiers had a more immediate and exact goal, such as to defend the country, their morale and enthusiasm would be much different. Highlights of the movie included moments where the soldiers were surfing in the ocean and also loud helicopter noises.  There is also one scene where a character says “I love the smell of napalm in the morning” which is very memorable because he says it funnily.
Overall I give the movie a 7 / 10.  It’s strengths were extreme realism and good audio.  It’s weakness is that it is old and a little strange.  However, I would still watch a sequel if one were created.
