Apparently people make a pretty big deal about star wars. I don't get it. It's not real. Yet, over
30,000 people went to a convention for it last year. The real question is, what goes through people's
minds when they dress up as a star wars character? I took a stab at some of the possibilities:
The funny thing is, people actually get upset when the histories of made up places don't fit together
correctly. People can imagine that entire universes exist, yet they get enraged when a minute detail
of it doesn't flow together correctly. If you can imagine that it exists, just imagine that things
that are incorrect don't really matter. What difference does it make?
And what's the deal with making maps anyways? The detail on these maps is almost creepy. Wasting a little
time is one thing, but come on:
I mean seriously, what good does that do? I bet 95%
of the people that can recite every location found in middle earth can't even identify 25 states in
the U.S. Oh well, at least they can find their way to the next convention.
